Licensing
MARYLAND: The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (DLLR) licenses and regulates home inspectors in the state of Maryland. The DLLR has approved our 72-hour course for the education portion of the license requirement.
Basic requirements for the MD home inspector license include:
- Completed application
- 72 hour in-classroom training course
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of the National Home Inspector Exam
- Application fee
VIRGINIA: The Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) licenses and regulates home inspectors in the commonwealth of Virginia. The DPOR has approved our 72-hour course for the education portion of the license requirement. Our Course ID is 3331001651.
Basic requirements for the VA home inspector license include:
- Completed application
- 70 hour in-classroom training course & 25 home inspections competed under the supervision of a licensed home inspector - OR - 35 hour in-classroom training course & 50 home inspections competed under the supervision of a licensed home inspector
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of the National Home Inspector Exam
- General liability insurance policy
- Application fee
WASHINGTON, DC: At this time there is no license law regulating home inspectors in the District of Columbia.
